In 2009 my wife and I decided to expand our 1958 vintage cape cod to provide more functional living space on the second level, and some additional space for entertaining on the first floor. To accomplish this, the existing upper level was completely demolished and new space was constructed consisting of 2 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, closets, including a walk in closet, and a study.
Our need for entertainment space was well met by the expansion of a small inadequate enclosed porch into a spacious enclosed sunroom.
Speaking with several references about their experience with Michael Giambalvo and MD Architecture, we received consistently good feedback. Our experience was consistent with the feedback. Their price was competitive. The quality of work done by the various trades involved was good to excellent. Commenting about the quality of the work they were inspecting, several of the building inspectors stated the contractors on Mike's team made their job easier.
While walking or driving past our project, neighbors and other licensed contractors commented about how clean and professionally the demolition and framing had been done. Mike or a project manager from his team was available by phone or on site to answer questions or solve problems. In the very few instances when we thought something could have been done better or that a small detail had been overlooked, Mike or his project manager listened and the situation was remedied. They were receptive to all our questions throughout the project.
We were very satisfied with the process, are very happy with the finished product, have received rave reviews from family, friends, and people passing by, and highly recommend MD Architecture for your consideration.

| Before the renovations on my house began, friends warned me that people never like their contractor at the completion of their project. I am delighted to say that it’s not true- I continue to hold MD Architecture in the highest regard. Mike steered us in the right direction, from the first time we met him to create our wish list to the last time workers left our beautiful addition. | We hired MD Architecture to renovate our existing kitchen after meeting with Mike Giambalvo on several occasions in 2008. Our demolition was in early August, and I was cooking in my beautiful, new kitchen by the end of September. Throughout the process, Mike and his staff were accessible, easy to work with, and accommodating. The builders/plumbers/electricians Mike brought in all did a great job across the board, always going the extra mile and remaining very detail-oriented. Any problems we may have encountered were minor, and were ALWAYS handled promptly and courteously. Work was done when Mike promised us it would be done, everyone who walked through our door was professional and friendly, and we have an amazing kitchen now because of it. |

| I wholeheartedly recommend Michael Giambalvo as an architect and as a builder and cabinet maker. Michael drew plans for our first home in Westfield back in 1993.It involved a second floor addition; it came in on time, on budget and was meticulously overseen by Michael. We did further work to our home, new kitchen, bathroom interior remodeling, all with Michael. I subsequently recommended him to several friends. Every addition he has designed is seamless; you cannot tell where the original house ends and the addition starts. |

| I called on Michael again to help renovate our second, much older home, I wanted to keep the old feel of the house but added a 3 car garage, mudroom addition and new front porch. We were given an award by Westfield Historical Association for our sympathetic renovation. We also redesigned some of the interior rooms to make a Master suite and beautiful bathroom and a kitchen collaboration that was featured in New Jersey Monthly magazine. |

| As part of the restoration Michael and his team replicated some 90 year old cabinet doors from our library and made new doors for bookcases, everyone thinks they are original to the house! |

| My last project with Michael was a house built in Scotch Plains, it stopped traffic as it was being built and received many compliments. |
